$20/Hour Guaranteed for Day Shifts, All Positions

Every day position at Miller's Downtown guarantees a minimum of $20/hour, calculated as your base hourly wage plus tips averaged across the workweek, consistent with federal and Virginia wage law. If your tips don't bring you to $20/hour for the week, we pay the difference. You keep every dollar you earn above that.

Location: Miller's Downtown – Charlottesville, VA
Schedule: Days & Nights | Weekends Required | Day shifts end by 8 PM, late nights run until 3:30 AM

High-volume shifts with strong tip potential, especially on weekends and live music nights. Actual earnings vary by shift and performance.

Miller's Downtown has been a cornerstone of Charlottesville's live music and dining scene since 1981. We host live music seven nights a week and run one of the highest-volume bars on the Historic Downtown Mall — fast-paced, high-energy, and never boring.

What You’ll Do

Build classic cocktails and the rotating seasonal menu accurately and quickly during high-volume service
Pour beer, wine, and spirits and keep the rail moving through a packed house
Take care of guests at the bar from arrival through check drop
Handle payments via POS, cash, and card
Stay composed and communicate clearly with servers and the kitchen during rush

What We’re Looking For

Available nights, weekends, and late nights until 3:30 AM
Three years of bartending experience and working knowledge of classic cocktails, beer, and wine
Fast, composed, and a team player
Comfortable in a loud, energetic live music environment
Minimum 4 shifts per week

We host 7 nights of live music and have a rich history of musicians that have played on our stage. Miller's also features the largest outdoor cafe on the DTM and our 3rd floor has the only Sports, Cigar and Billiards place in Charlottesville.
